This new, aftermarket product is handmade in the USA. It is a plug-and-play upgrade over the standard, discontinued Apollo/Luxor breakaway kit, and is designed to meet or exceed OEM product reliability and longevity. 12' length and a Hopkins brand quick disconnect allow the wire to be routed through the car window, simply unplug from the permanently mounted breakaway switch, which attaches with a single included screw. You can also then tow multiple vehicles with the same wire, just attach one of these - https://www.ebay.com/itm/283474976161 to your second vehicle (quick-detach fitting is compatible with Patriot wiring as well). Wire can also be permanently installed through the firewall with the included zip ties, if desired.

Manufacturing details - Tekonsha brand breakaway switch. Unit-end fittings are a quality name brand and are filled with epoxy to prevent wires from coming loose or corroding. Wiring is pure 18 gauge copper, not CCA, for repeated flexing without breakage. Sheath is extra thick, UV and abrasion resistant PVC. Wire splices are twisted, soldered, cleaned with solvent, coated with liquid electrical tape, allowed to dry, then covered with adhesive-lined, waterproof shrink tubing. Quick disconnect fittings and breakaway contacts are coated with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion. Split ring included for coiled lanyard attachment, if desired.
