1903 Stock With Stippled Butt Plate.
This is a late 1930s/early 1940s 1903 replacement stock with a stippled butt plate.
"J" is marked in the magazine cutoff recess which would indicate Springfield Armory manufactured this stock.
Although about 80 years old, the stock is in excellent condition.
Many people say that US Marine Corps (USMC) armorers stippled 1903 butt plates during USMC rebuild programs.
If this is so, this stock was in the process of being placed on a USMC rifle.
