This  auction is for a
SARD BU.AERO U.S. NAVY MARK 43 6x42 Wide Field , stock #R88-B-303 military  binoculars made by Square D company Flushing N.Y. during WWII, they were using by the US Navy in the Pacific.  Very heavy duty construction, probably the best very fine  WF binocular ever made at that time along with the B&L 7x50 .  these binoculars are in fair  cosmetic  conditions considering what they went thru ,  one of the rear  glass  does have a scratch on it, and one of inner glass group  is chipped  at the edge and you can see some of the tiny  glass  chips  loose,  I checked  the view at infinity and image is  just  clear and sharp.  the particular optics were designed to  be sharp from center to the edge .They are complete  with  the original case marked SarD USN.  Pretty  rare army binoculars
