This piece measures 14" high, while the starling is life-size at 11" long, with carved and painted feather detail throughout, a slightly turned head, a semi-fanned tail, drop wings, and it is perched with handcarved crab apples and leaves (ripe and drying crab apples are part of the starling's favorite foods) adorning this piece, just as you would see it in the wild.
