Vintage Michigan Redhead Duck Decoy, unknown carver

Description

Here's a folky redhead drake from Michigan, with a broad flat bottom and weighted keel, 16" long.  The bottom is interesting in that it has been hewn by hand rather than milled.  It now has glass eyes but previously had paint ones that I think were better positioned.  Whoever replaced them with the glass ones didn't cover them exactly and you can see the right one in the photo.  The paint is worn in places revealing its gray undercoat.  There appears the be two pegs vertically through the decoy in odd spots for some reason, to the right front of the neck seat and over the left shoulder.  Both the tops and bottoms of the pegs can be seen in the photos.  There is a tight crack running along the left side of the body and a vertical one just in front of the left eye.
