Solid Body Black Duck Decoy by Frank J Brogan
Up for your consideration is this vintage hand carved solid wood Black Duck Decoy by Saginaw Bay, Michigan, carver Frank J. Brogan. Circa is 1930's/'40's. This is part of a private collection of Saginaw Bay and Port Huron, Michigan decoy carvers. Paint is original to the decoy and includes scratched feather painting with distinctive white line wing and yellow bill. Red glass eyes. Has a crack running on bottom from mid point to tail. Leather strap on bottom front.  Please look at picture for more detail. F.J. Brogan is stamped into lead weight on underside.
Black Duck Statistics: Weight 4.9#, Length 17", Height from bottom to top of head 7.5", Girth at widest part of body 13.5".
