Wilson's snipe stick up decoy set w/Killdeer sentinels, vintage shorebird decoys

This is a "working set" of stick-up Wilson's snipe decoys w/Killdeer sentinels. Seven bird set consists of two feeding snipe, one alert snipe, one sleeping snipe and three killdeer - any snipe hunter knows if there are no Killdeer in the field, there will be no Wilson's snipe in the field.  Decoys fit nicely into a very old leather carrying case made of extremely heavy leather and hardware - which is in amazingly good condition. I hand carved and painted this set myself many years ago. They are made of solid pine.  I have used them for decades hunting in the field and it's time to let them go - mud smears and all.  The leather case is a very old machine gun magazine pouch purchased a long time ago in an antique store.  The pouch was a perfect fit for taking the decoys in the field - see photos of how they pack.
I have taken many snipe with the help of these decoys.  They have seen action in TN, AL, NC and LA. over the years  To hunt with them, place the decoys near a wet grassy ditch and then start walking up birds in the surrounding fields.  Any snipe you don't shoot will settle in the decoys after they have circled the field.  Every so often, walk back to the decoys and flush up more snipe - but don't shoot the Killdeer!  Hunt with them, or collect them - I hope you hunt with them.
